Lincoln Academy was founded in 1801. It has been in continuous operation for over 200 years, and is an inclusive community that welcomes people from diverse backgrounds economically, geographically, and ethnically. We have over 460 domestic day students--many of whom will board in the dorms during this Winter trimester for safety and facilitate practice for sports and arts. Last year, we had 60 students from 17 countries--China, SE Asia, Europe and South America, and 6 domestic students in 5 day boarding. This year, we are adding students from Cambodia and Hungary for the first time ever.

Our teachers are passionate about the subjects they teach and are eager to support and help students achieve their goals. Lincoln Academy has a strong arts program in fine visual arts, ceramics, theater, choir and music. We also have varsity (competitive) teams in soccer, basketball, lacrosse, field hockey, wrestling, swimming, and cross country. We have over 60 clubs for students to gather and engage their interests and passions with a platform.

Lincoln Academy is in a rural location, but only a 10 minute walk from Damariscotta--our gorgeous win village straddling river and sea that was voted #1 picturesque village in New England by Fodors. Everyday after school, most of our students (both day and ResLife) walk to town to hang out and enjoy the beauty while having coffee and ice cream!

Finally, many of Lincoln Academy's teachers also live alongside the students in the dorms as dorm parents. We offer many activities during the week, but especially on the weekend when shopping trips are scheduled in addition to movies, cultural and sports events. We offer family-style boarding where our dorm parents form close relationships with our students.

There is so much more to share, so I invite you to schedule an appointment to find out more about Lincoln Academy--our school, our community, our home."
